Hi, I have a few shows coming up that I'm really excited about. Actually I have many many shows that I'm excited about. Here's the story:
First, I'm playing in the Wordless Music Concert Series on Jan 16th and 17th, here in New York. I'll be playing viola in the orchestra, and the program includes a US premier by Jonny Greenwood, Radiohead's resident noisemaker, who also happens to be a viola player. A fact that I like very much.

Then, Marla Hansen has a show at Union Hall on Jan. 21st. We are very excited.
After that, my quartet has a show coming up as well, Osso is our name, we play arrangements of Sufjan Stevens music, but its not pretty. Its the electronic stuff from Enjoy Your Rabbit. So come, enjoy it.

09.01.07 | CD Release!
Wedding Day comes out this Tuesday Sept. 4th on Standard Recording!! It will be available from the Standard website, itunes and at various indie record stores throughout the country. We are very excited!
Also there will be many shows in the near future, I've got two shows coming up to celebrate the release, an instore at Soundfix in Brooklyn on the 8th, and the CD release party at Union Hall on the 11th. And, drumroll please, my fall tour with Denison Witmer kicks off on the 20th in Athens, Ohio, check shows for more details, hope to see you!

Earlier this year I got to film a video with Vincent Moon aka Mathieu Saura aka the force of nature behind Blogotheque's Take Away Shows. I'm a huge fan of his, so it was a real honor to get to work with him. We went to Central Park and shot of couple of songs with Inlets, and one of my own too, a new one called New Zealand. It was silly silly fun, the Inlets songs were shot in the boats on the pond, and mine was shot perched atop some very large rocks. Special thanks to Devon Press for helping out that day, as security guard AND sound man, props yo.

I'm pleased to announced I've joined the roster at Standard Recording! Standard is an indie label based in Indianapolis, and we have much midwest pride! They will be releasing the Wedding Day EP on Sept. 4th, with exciting new environmentally sensitive cardboard packaging. Actually I'm not sure if it's recycled or anything, but it's better than the plastic jewel cases that will biodegrade about 10,000 years from now. That is, if you throw it out. Hopefully you won't throw it out.
I'm absolutely thrilled to join up with such great people and great bands! There will probably be lots of news as the release date approaches, so stay tuned . . . here's the Standard Website:

02.18.07 | Music Now!
I'm excited to announce I'll be particpating in this years Music Now Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio. Curated by Bryce Dessner (Clogs, The National) the festival takes place over three days in early April and will include performances from Clogs, Amiina, Sufjan Stevens, My Brightest Diamond, percussionist David Cossin, Irena and Vojtec Havel, and flamenco guitarist Pedro Soler. The MBD string quartet be performing premiers of works by Maria Huld Markan from Amiina, and new arrangements of pieces from Sufjan's Enjoy Your Rabbit, arranged by Michael Adkinson. We'll also be performing sets with My Brightest Diamond of course, and Sufjan too, all in beautiful Memorial Hall. Passes for the festival are $60, and a limited number of individual concert tickets will be available for $25, please see the website for more information.
